Error code E-1012
Probe not detected
Error code E-1012 means a connected ultrasound probe is not detected or is reported as incompatible. Often the cause is not the probe itself but the connector, the cable or the probe interface board in the system. We pinpoint the cause precisely and repair at component level.
What the message means
The system fails to detect a connected ultrasound probe or reports it as incompatible.

- Connected probe is not detected or only intermittently
- "Probe incompatible" message despite a matching probe
- Detection drops out when the cable or connector is moved
- A single probe port fails while others still work
Possible causes
This is what experience shows is behind it.
- Faulty probe connector or bent contact pins
- Broken conductor in the probe cable or at the strain relief
- Fault on the probe interface board in the system
- Corrosion or contamination on the connector contacts

How we proceed
Diagnosis
We cross-test the probe on a known-good port and a known-good probe on the affected port. This unambiguously separates whether the probe, the connector or the probe interface board in the system is the cause. That is the basis for a precise repair.
Repair
We repair faulty connectors and cables on both probe and system; contact pins are straightened or replaced. If the fault is on the probe interface board, we restore it at component level instead of swapping it. Including a function test of all probe ports, a test report and a warranty, usually within 1 to 2 working days.
